Enjoy the sunshine with drivewear® lenses
by Sheryl Doe FBDO Dispensing Optician
We have all seen the TV adverts about Transitions® lenses and how they can protect our eyes automatically from bright sunlight and UV rays.
The are most certainly convenient, but unfortunately they don’t work too well when I am are behind the wheel of the car, and these days I seem to spend a hell of a lot of time driving . Today’s windscreens block the UV rays that enable the photochromic Transitions® lenses to change darker, leaving me with almost clear lenses while looking out at the oh-so-bright motorway ahead.
I have tried polarized prescription sunglasses, which are fabulous, but they don’t change with the various lighting conditions. They are dark and stay dark, which in the UK isn’t terribly helpful with our changable weather.
DriveWear® lenses have come to my rescue with a new type of lens. Using breakthrough polarizing technology Drivewear adjusts to the brightness of the light outside even while I am sitting behind the windscreen of my car.
For you techys out there, DriveWear® lenses combine the two technologies – polarization and photochromia – they can sense and adapt to the light conditions both inside and outside my car. I get protection from glare while they automatically adjust the tint.
What’s the difference I hear you ask? Well DriveWear® lenses are specifically designed for driving, adjusting to every lighting condition as I drive.
