Hypermetropia or “long-sightedness” occurs when the eye is “too short” for its own focal length and focused light falls on a focal point behind the retina.

People who are hypermetropic mainly need help seeing objects up close, although in higher degrees it may affect both near and far vision.

Spectacles or contact lenses can easily correct this condition.
