Adidas – Running

Runners should protect their eyes from UV radiation and from wind. Yet, not just any pair of sunglasses will suffice. They should be lightweight and secure enough not to “bounce” or slip off when running or sweating.

The sunglasses need to offer 100% UV protection. If running primarily on concrete, consider polarized lenseswhich eliminate reflected glare. This enables objects to become more distinct and seen in their true colors. Though running is not considered a high impact activity, we at David H Myers Opticians still recommend strong  impact resistant lenses for added durability.

Since running may take place at different times of the day and in varying weather conditions, photochromic lenses could be considered. Photochromiclenses will lighten or darken according to the amount of light and UV exposure. The colour of the lens can also increase contrast, so you can better see possible hazards in the terrain ahead. A gray lens allows true perception with the least color distortion, while a brown based lens will provide the best contrast.

Adidas design  eyewear specifically for running with a patented fit system that creates unparalleled comfort. Featuring polycarbonate lenses with Light Stabilizer Lens Technology (LST). This eliminates eye strain caused moving quickly from bright sunlight to shade.
