With its history firmly rooted in the early twentieth century, Prada began as Fratelli Prada (Prada Brothers.) An emporium of luxury leather goods in Milan, it quickly became a firm favourite of the Italian aristocracy and upper classes. By 1919, Prada had become an official supplier to the Italian royal family. Thereby having the right to incorporate the coat of arms and knotted rope insignia of the house of Savoy into its logo; a design still in use today.

From these firm foundations Prada grew to become one of the worlds most influential fashion houses, with the name Prada becoming a premium status symbol. The signature Prada look uses luxurious fabrics in mostly black, greys, browns, creams, and greens to create simple provocative styles.
